چکیده

We propose a feature for action recognition called Trajectory-Set (TS), on top of the improved Dense Trajectory (iDT). The TS feature encodes only trajectories around densely sampled interest points, without any appearance features. Experimental results on the UCF50, UCF101, and HMDB51 action datasets demonstrate that TS is comparable to state-of-the-arts, and outperforms many other methods; for HMDB the accuracy of 85.4%, compared to the best accuracy of 80.2% obtained by a deep method. Our code is available on-line at https://github.com/Gauffret/ TrajectorySet.

Deep CNN Object Features for Improved Action Recognition in Low Quality Videos

Video based action recognition has been an active area of research in recent years. This is due to the many potential applications such as video surveillance, video content analysis, human computer interaction and video archiving. The ongoing trend of research deals with many complex action recognition problems such as appearance, pose and illumination variations but problem video quality is st...

Action recognition by saliency-based dense sampling

Action recognition, aiming to automatically classify actions from a series of observations, has attracted more attention in the computer vision community. The state-of-the-art action recognition methods utilize dense sampled trajectories to build feature representations. However, their performances are limited due to action region clutters and camera motions in real world applications. No matte...

Pillar Networks for action recognition

Image understanding using deep convolutional network has reached human-level performance, yet a closely related problem of video understanding especially, action recognition has not reached the requisite level of maturity. We combine multi-kernels based support-vector-machines (SVM) with a multi-stream deep convolutional neural network to achieve close to state-of-the-art performance on a 51-cl...

Sympathy for the Details: Dense Trajectories and Hybrid Classification Architectures for Action Recognition

Action recognition in videos is a challenging task due to the complexity of the spatio-temporal patterns to model and the difficulty to acquire and learn on large quantities of video data. Deep learning, although a breakthrough for image classification and showing promise for videos, has still not clearly superseded action recognition methods using hand-crafted features, even when training on m...

Analysis and Synthesis of Facial Expressions by Feature-Points Tracking and Deformable Model

Face expression recognition is useful for designing new interactive devices offering the possibility of new ways for human to interact with computer systems. In this paper we develop a facial expressions analysis and synthesis system. The analysis part of the system is based on the facial features extracted from facial feature points (FFP) in frontal image sequences. Selected facial feature poi...
